Visa & Passport

Visa and Passport

Before starting your journey to Tanzania, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. Most travelers will also need a visa to enter the country. Depending on your nationality, you may qualify for a visa on arrival, or you might need to apply beforehand through the Tanzanian embassy or the online eVisa system.

Visas on arrival are available at major entry points like Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airport. However, it’s highly recommended to apply for an eVisa before your trip to avoid long wait times and potential delays. Make sure to keep a copy of your visa approval and travel itinerary handy for immigration officers.

It’s important to double-check the visa requirements specific to your nationality, as regulations can change over time. For the most accurate and up-to-date details, consult your local Tanzanian embassy or consulate. Also, keep an eye on your visa’s expiration date—overstaying can lead to fines or other penalties.
